"Marine mining as the resources opportunity for future generations"

While facing the necessity of providing the Mankind with mineral resources, guaranteeing Its sustainable development, it becomes necessary to take up common actions, from both the side of the Science and the Industry, in the scope of marine mining. The marine mining establishes a new area of research, requiring merging the knowledge and experience from the area of mining, navigation, maritime transport and sea-safety procedures. It is necessary to start up a common discussion and experience exchange between representatives of the Science and the Industry in the area of geological research, resources' estimation, as well as modern technological solutions and aspects of economics of raw-materials' exploitation from the sea and ocean depths.

The 1^st International Science and Technology Conference "Marine mining as the resources opportunity for future generations" is the first step towards executing these objectives. It will be an extraordinary occasion to start actions of educational, research and popularization character, preparing the future generations to take advantages of the resources of seas and oceans.
